School Council

Council Members

The Governing Body of Alphington Grammar is the School Council. Since 2008, it has been chaired by Mr Bill Papastergiadis. There are twelve members currently sitting on the School Council who oversee all aspects of school life. 

The School Council Members in 2012 are:

Mr Nick Koukouvitakis - Chairman;  Mr Mike Smith - Principal;  Mr Manuel Pappos - Business Manager; Mr Kypros Kyprianou;  Mr Dean Tsoubakos; Mr John Mitsakos;  Mr Con Charalabidis;  Mr Steve Siolis; Mr Peter Boussounis; and Mr Colin Kapeleris. 

Role of Councillors

School Council members are integral to the short and long term planning of educational, social, physical and philosophical aspects of school life. They are committed to their responsible roles and offer a breadth of professional and life-experience to assist with their mission of achieving cutting edge teaching and learning programmes relevant to the student population of Alphington Grammar School. They all strive for a level of excellence throughout the curriculum and aim to support the educational initiatives of the Senior Management Team in the best interests of the School community and Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria.
