A message from the Principal, Dr Vivianne Nikou
It is with pleasure that I welcome you to the Alphington Grammar School website. If you are a first time visitor, I hope the experience gives you a sense of our school’s idyllic setting and unique learning environment and I trust you will be encouraged to visit us on one of our tour mornings to meet our students and experience the School in operation.
Alphington Grammar School has a strong community focus, and a commitment to enabling our students to strive for personal excellence. In 2019 we will celebrate our 30 year anniversary. While relatively young in Victorian Independent School history, Alphington Grammar School is fast carving out a niche for itself, where every student matters and has vast opportunities to excel.
We are a small school with big opportunities. Our focus is on delivering the learning outcomes for our students and providing them with the appropriate learning experiences to ensure their success. At Alphington, we are able to provide our students with experiences and opportunities that will prepare them for the changing nature of life, learning and work. Our students leave with the skills to thrive and succeed in a world beyond school.
I am incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to lead such a vibrant, progressive school community, and facilitate the positive, engaging connections between our students and our staff. At the heart of everything we do, it is those relationships which make a real difference.
One of the things I am most proud of at Alphington Grammar is the incredibly strong sense of community that permeates through our staff, students and families.
I am a strong advocate for ensuring that we connect with both the head and the heart of our students – we show them we care. Together with our parent community we want our students know that their learning matters to us. We want them to experience success.
We want them to experience success. As educators one of our critical roles is to inspire the desire to learn and want to find out more. If we ensure that learning is meaningful for them, then we can go a long way to helping them achieve success.
As educators, one of our critical roles is to ignite the desire to learn and passion to explore. If we ensure that learning is meaningful, then we can go a long way to helping young people achieve success.
Throughout our website, you will find examples of the experiences and opportunities that an Alphington Grammar School education can provide for your child. We are passionate about providing strong foundations for learning, and encouraging our students to become active learners in all aspects of the curriculum.
We are very excited about the next phase of our development with the construction of our state of the art STEM facilities and Education Resource Centre.
While our website can show you a snapshot of what Alphington has to offer, a visit to the school will demonstrate who we are, how we operate and where we are going. For upcoming tour opportunities, please find our dates here. I look forward to welcoming you to Alphington Grammar School soon.
