Mother’s Day High Tea
This year, our famous Mother’s Day High Tea will be held on Saturday 7 May, 2016 between 2-5pm. We are again looking forward to hosting a wonderful event in recognition of mothers, grandmothers, aunties, big sisters and women everywhere who provide strong role modelling to the next generation.
Our guest speaker for this years Mother’s Day High Tea is Adelaide mother of three, Taryn Brumfitt, Founder of The Body Image Movement, and creator of the upcoming documentary EMBRACE. Taryn is a body image advocate, who has shared her message around the world, via her impressive social media presence, and as a guest speaker for organisations such as Google. She has appeared on both Sunrise and the Today show in Australia, and has also been a guest on Good Morning America, and featured in Huffington Post.
During 2014 and 2015 Taryn interviewed women around the world for her documentary EMBRACE, after raising over $330,000 via a Kickstarter campaign. Celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher, Rosie O’Donnell and Ricki Lake have all donated to the documentary. Now in the final stages of post-production the feature length documentary has been produced to unite women around the world to love their bodies.
We are thrilled to welcome Taryn to our Mother’s Day High Tea, and for her to share her story of how she went from loathing her body, to unconditionally loving her body, and why it is so important for all of us to redefine our own ideals of body image. Taryn’s goal is to encourage women to be more accepting of who they are, to use positive language regarding their bodies and others, and to prioritise health before beauty. We also look forward to a wonderful afternoon of beautiful food, bottomless champagne, barista coffee, high end market stalls and lucky door prizes. This promises to be another sell out event in our School’s calendar so please book your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Tickets are $70 per person and will be available online from 5pm on Wednesday 23 March.
