Scholars Assembly 2015

In Alpha News, News, Secondary School

This week we gathered as a community of learners at our Scholar’s Assembly to celebrate the effort and achievements of our class of 2014. Their end of year results must be seen as a testament to their commitment to excel in their academic studies and their hard work over many years. By any measure, the class of 2014 has again set the bar high for others to aspire to.

Professor Nick Samaras gave the keynote address at this year’s Scholar’s Assembly. Professor Nick Samaras has extensive experience in the global Life Sciences industry gained over the past 25 years. Professor Samaras established Australis Biosciences in early 2004, and, he continues to consult to universities, government, venture capital firms, investors, banks and global biotechnology companies.

Professor Samaras shared his own journey and experiences with our students and put out the challenge to our students to strive for excellence, to find what inspires them and be passionate about it. His message on the changing world our students will inherit, life expectancy and his “Blue Sky” thinking about the workplace of the future left us all reflecting. Professor Samaras also helped award scholars certificates and book prizes to the high achievers of 2014 and then shared morning tea with the Scholars and their parents.

We congratulate all our 2014 Scholars on their wonderful achievement.
