Business Manager

With the upcoming retirement of the current Business Manager following 30 years of prudent financial management, we are now seeking an experienced, capable and community focused Business Manager responsible for the overall financial management of the school consistent with the AGS Values and Mission.

The Business Manager is responsible for all governance and compliance issues ensuring relevant statutory and educational requirements are met. Working in partnership with senior AGS staff and the School Council, the Business Manager is recognised and highly respected by staff, parents and community members. Reporting to the Principal and a key member of the AGS Leadership Team, a key function for the incumbent will be assisting the Principal in the implementation of the future strategic plan. The new Business Manager is required to commence the role in January, 2021.

The successful applicant will have significant financial acumen and experience leading the administrative function of a community focused organisation. With demonstrated and innovative management practices, the incumbent will focus on improving the organizational capability of the School. They are meticulous planners, have a keen eye for detail and a consummate professional committed to the promotion of a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency. Success and effectiveness in this role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, business acumen and high ICT skills.
